Research in the United States in 2012 showed that 3.6% of people who eat out get food posioning or some sort of reaction to their meal. 45% of these people where actually sick from germs that they were carrying which mixed with the food.
For example, a high ratio of these cases where office workers who wear ties to work. Their ties have a high concentration of germs which often pass to their meal, making them sick. For a few years now ties have been banned in UK and US hospitals because of the document research into germs passed from doctors ties between patients. However now this same information has been proven in the area of food at work.
